Aims of this site: Clinical Neurophysiology

I would firstly like to act as a pointer to the web site of the British Society of Clinical Neurophysiology www.bscn.org.uk. This site also acts as a "portal" for clinical neurophysiology on the web, particularly through the directory. There are useful lists, such as a diary of events of interest to neurophysiologists that covers more than one society. Through out much of the site, as it develops, I am hoping to share my interest in the use of medical informatics and evidence based medicine in clinical neurophysiology. I include audit and clinical governance issues. In all these areas I provide a British perspective. Although the science of medicine is universal, British practice of medicine differs from much of the world because of the predominance of the National Health Service in this country. Clinical Neurophysiology in Britain is practised as a specialty in its own right, which is another difference from most other countries.
